Opoitsev, Valery Ivanovich

Born on September 5, 1944 ^[1] . in Tuapse in the family of a soldier. In 1962 he graduated from Krasnodar High School No. 8 and entered the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Since 1967, he worked at the Institute of Management Problems (at that time IAT), first as a technician, engineer, and since 1971, after graduating with honors from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with a degree in Automatic Control Systems and early defense of his dissertation, as a junior, and since 1974, a senior research fellow.

In 1982 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences ^[2] , in 1991 he was awarded the title of professor in the specialty "System analysis and automatic control."

Almost all of his scientific activity, with the exception of a break for the post of deputy director of the Research Institute for the Development of the Tax System, is connected with the work at the Institute of Management Problems, where since 1986 he has been a leading researcher, head of the laboratory sector No. 57 and 61 , and in recent years - the chief researcher.

Over the years of work at IPU, he took part in many scientific and applied programs and developments. He directed applied research for the State Planning Commission and the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, as well as major research work on the calculation and optimization of the structure of on-board computer systems ^[3] . Specialist in the management of social and economic systems, statics and dynamics of complex systems ^[4] .

In recent years, he has implemented another major educational Internet project - the “Opoytsev School”, combining video lectures and teaching materials in mathematics and physics for higher and school education. He was convinced that:

“In the face of an information flood, yesterday’s tools stop working. Therefore, you need to learn somehow differently. Lectures provide an example. Whether bad or good, time will tell. But in any case, this is a new generation product. The same “wheels”, the same “steering wheel”, the same mathematical essence - but in a different way. ”

The last lecture for the project "School of Opoytsev" was published just a month before his untimely death.

He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.

He published monographs: “Equilibrium and stability in models of collective behavior”, “Nonlinear operators in spaces with a cone”, “Nonlinear systematics”.

In 2004 - 2018 published 16-volume “Lectures on Mathematics” under the pseudonym V. Boss, which presents a fresh and extraordinary look at the main sections of mathematics and the relationship between them. Most of the volumes of Lectures have been translated into foreign languages.

Valery Ivanovich prepared 14 candidates of sciences.
