Giuseppe Maria Carretti ( Italian: Giuseppe Maria Carretti ; October 19, 1690 , Bologna - June 7, 1774 , Bologna ) - Italian composer.

He received a musical education as an organist and vocalist, and also studied counterpoint under the direction of Floriano Arresti . In 1717 he was elected to the Bologna Philharmonic Academy as a singer, two years later also as a composer; between 1720 and 1763 six times served as chairman of the academy, was also in other senior positions in it. Throughout his life, he was associated with the Basilica of San Petronio as a priest, since 1713 a sacristan, since 1740 an assistant to the elderly bandmaster Giacomo Antonio Perti , since 1756 his successor as bandmaster (since 1761, old age, since Callisto Zanotti as an assistant [1] ).
