Biography
Early life
Lynch was born in Termonfekine , County Louth , Ireland in the family of Donal and Margaret Lynch. She also has older sisters Mairid and Emily, and brother Patrick.
Already as a child, Evanna read the Harry Potter books and became a fan of him [1] . With 11 years in two years, Lynch suffered from anorexia , and J. Rowling sent her a letter to support her.
Until June 2004, Evanna attended the Kataun-Nasional elementary school [2] , and then moved to the Aur-Ladys-Collage Catholic School for Girls [3] , where her father was the deputy director [4] [5] . In 2008, Lynch studied speculative fiction and drama [6] at the Irish Center for Talented Youth [7] . Since September 2010, Lynch has studied at the Institute of Education, located in Ireland [8] .
Career
On February 2, 2006, fourteen-year-old Lynch participated in casting for the role of Half Moon Lovegood for the film “ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ”, which was held in London [9] . She had long dreamed of acting in Harry Potter, once wrote a letter to JK Rowling that she, an ordinary girl, would never act in Harry Potter, but she had an interview, going around 15,000 applicants for this role [3] . Evanna began filming the Order of the Phoenix in late February at Leavesden Studios in England .
It seemed to the producers of the film that professional actresses were too famous and would not be suitable for the role of the eccentric Polumna Lovegood , so an open interview was arranged. As producer David Heyman noted in the documentary Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Beyond the Edge of Magic, We had three girls who we thought were good, they were going to play Polumna, but they were not going to be Polumna.
During the early stages of making the fifth film, Lynch had a chance to meet with the author of the Harry Potter books , J. K. Rowling . After a long discussion of how Lynch shows Polumna , Rowling was able to say only one thing: “perfect” [10] . However, since Lynch's hair was naturally dark in color, it was decided to turn her into a blonde for the role of Polumna. On the set, Lynch made new friends in the person of Bonnie Wright (who plays Ginny Weasley ), Katie Ljung ( Zhou Chang ) and Afshan Azad ( Padma Patil ) [11] .
From the day the movie was released, she received many positive reviews, being named one of the film's “winners” [12] .
Other works
Lynch participated in the development of fashion accessories for Harry Potter films [13] and posed for photographers Catherine Thomas and Kieran Sweeney [14] [15] . She also recorded an abbreviated audio version of Claire Keegan’s Foster short story. [16]
Lynch is also a member of the Board of Consultants for the non-profit organization The Harry Potter Alliance.
