Story

On the plot of the novel of the Belgian writer Georges Rodenbach's "Dead Brugge."

The wife of Sergei Nikolaevich Nedelin Elena dies. He is inconsolable and reverently keeps the memory of her. In his house is stored as a relic of Elena's braid. One day he meets a woman named Tina, very similar to his late wife. She turns out to be an opera ballerina, and Nedelin falls in love with her. It seems to him that Elena has returned to him. But this feeling is short-lived. It begins to seem to Nedelin that every gesture and every word of the vulgar Tina offends the memory of his unforgettable Elena. His friend Solsky says that Tina is not worthy of his love. In the end, Nedelin’s nerves can’t stand it, and he strangles Tina with the scythe of Elena.
