Lasiomyrma wiwatwitayai (lat.) - a species of ants of the genus Lasiomyrma from the subfamily myrmycin (Myrmicinae, Crematogastrini ). Southeast Asia . The first mainland representative of the genus, previously known only from the islands of Kalimantan and Java. The species name was given in honor of the Thai entomologist Dec Vivatvitaya (Dr. Decha Wiwatwitaya , Ant Museum, Kasetsart University , Bangkok ), which discovered a type series [1] .

Northeast Thailand : Nakon Ratchasima Prov., Chanthaburi Prov. It was found in rotten wood in the litter layer in an evergreen forest at heights from 800 to 1400 m [1] .
Small ants of brown color, body length of workers from 2.2 to 2.9 mm (females and males were not found). Head length from 0.7 to 0.73 mm, head width from 0.63 to 0.65 mm; antennae scapus length from 0.43 to 0.45 mm. It differs from similar species in the following features: a wider promezonotum and dorsally more convex, the upper part of the propodeum straight in profile, propodeal spines blunt-angled and shorter than its width at the base. Posterothorax with propodeal spines. Antennae long, in females and workers 11–12-segmented, mace 3-segmented. The workers' mandibles are triangular elongated, with 7–9 teeth. The mandibular palps are 2-segmented, the lower labial palps are composed of 2 segments. Antennal grooves absent. Shins of middle and hind legs without apical spurs. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments ( petiol + postpetiol). The cuticle is thick and densely sculpted. The sting is developed [1] [2] [3] .
