Twenty One Pilots released the 4th Blurryface album on May 17, 2015. The album was topped by the Billboard 200 and two songs made it to the top five singles, namely “ Stressed Out ” and “ Ride ”, reaching 2 and 5 places respectively in the Billboard Hot 100. These songs, along with “ Heathens ” from Suicide Squad soundtrack , launched the band into mainstream in 2016. The duo embarked on two world tours in support of the album from 2015 to 2017. After the five closing dates of the tour, called the “Tour de Columbus,” the group went on a one-year break, starting July 6, 2017.

On April 21, 2018, fans (click) discovered a website created by dmaorg.info . Many mysterious teasers about the new album, concept, and the Blurryface era have been revealed on this site. The site mentions Dema , a fictional city created by the group. Josh Dan first mentioned Dem at the Alternative Press Music Awards . The website has also posted many journal entries from the fictional character Clancy about his escape from Dema. Many other codes and tips were found. On July 5, 2018, the final entry from Clancy's magazine (before the official silence) was published. The diary says: "In the morning everything will be different." The next day, the group emailed fans a mysterious GIF with a slightly open eye. Then the group returned to social networks on July 9, 2018 with a video of a more open yellow eye . They also debuted on the new logo, and billboards and murals containing the logo appeared in numerous cities around the world in one night. The next day, the group published another video with an eye, more open before that, with a muffled version of the introduction of the song “Jumpsuit”.

On July 11, 2018, the group released two new singles “ Jumpsuit ” and “ Nico and the Niners ”, as well as a music video for the song “Jumpsuit” ^[8] . On July 26, 2018, a music video for the song “ Nico and the Niners ” was released. The group also announced the release of their fifth studio album, “Trench,” which was released on October 5, 2018, and a new world tour called “ The Bandito Tour, ” the first concert of which will take place on October 16. ^{[9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]}

The second track “Levitate” leaked to the Tidal streaming platform on August 7, 2018, but was quickly deleted. ^[15] This was also accompanied by a leaked list of tracks from the album. ^[16] . The song Levitate was subsequently released as the third single from the album. ^[17] A music video for this song was also released, resulting in the completion of a series of trilogies. ^[18]

Apple TV users found in iTunes that the next single, “My Blood,” will be released on September 7, 2018, but the song was released earlier, namely August 28, 2018.

On January 22, 2019, the track “Chlorine” was released as the fifth single from the album, along with a video clip for it. ^{[19] [20]}
