Andrei Ivanovich Khripta (born November 29, 1986 , Znamenka ) is a Ukrainian road bicycle racer who performed at a professional level in the period 2011-2016. Twice silver medalist of the Ukrainian championships in separate start races, winner of the Adygea Grand Prix , participant in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and many other highway races. Biography
Andrey Khripta was born on November 29, 1986 in the city of Znamenka, Kirovograd region of the Ukrainian SSR . He graduated from the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after Vladimir Vinnichenko .
He won his first career victory in 2004, winning a multi-day race in the city of Chernivtsi . Subsequently, he won the Ukrainian Cup and various regional competitions.
He made his debut on a professional level in 2011 as part of the Kiev continental team Kolss Cycling Team . He took eighth place at the “ Grand Prix of Donetsk ”, became the twelfth in the general classification of the “ Tour of Slovakia ”, performed at several major races in Russia: “ Mayor ’s Cup ”, “ Grand Prix of Moscow ”, “ Five Rings of Moscow ”.
In 2012, he won the second stage of the Sibiu Cycling Tour in Romania, ranked sixth in the final standings of the Adygea Grand Prix , took part in the Bulgaria Tour , where he took 9th and 16th places in the mountain and general classifications, respectively .
At the 2013 Ukrainian Road Championship he finished ninth in the group race and seventh in the individual race with a separate start. He won the Grand Prix of Adygea [1] , won the prologue of the Tour of Romania (team race with a separate start), became the second at the Oleg Dyachenko Memorial , took eighth place in the general classification of the Five Rings of Moscow. He played at the Tuscany Road World Championship .
In 2014, he took seventh place in the general classification of the “Iranian Tour”, took part in the multi-day race of the highest category “ Qinghai Lake Tour ” and in the world championship in Ponferrad .
Khripta spent the 2015 season on Kyiv Capital Racing, another Kyiv-based continental team, which lasted only one year. At this time, he won a silver medal at the Ukrainian championship in cutting, second only to Sergey Lagkuti . He won the ISD Grand Prix , became the third at the Vinnitsa Grand Prix , the second at the Five Rings of Moscow, completely drove the stage race of the highest category Hainan Tour . At the World Championships in Richmond, he started in the group race, but lost the race.
In the standings of the Ukrainian national championship in 2016, he was again second in the butchering, this time losing to Andriy Vasilyuk . This season he again represented Kolss BDC Team , having visited several races of the first and second categories. Thanks to a series of successful performances, he entered the main part of the Ukrainian national team and was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics - he reached the start of the men's group race , but did not reach the finish line without showing any result [2] .
For outstanding sports achievements he was awarded the honorary title " Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class " [3] .
