July 25, 2018 Krivitsky was arrested in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy) at the request of the Russian authorities. According to Krivitsky’s lawyer, Mauro Anetrini, about a year ago, the former senator asked for political asylum in France (it will be considered in November 2018) and did not know that he was put on the international wanted list.
