The high relief depicts a young couple, bowing their heads to each other, their eyes are directed into the distance. A young man with a half-open mouth and a moving adam apple , probably a poet , a girl listens to him. A piece of his poetic wreath easily touches her forehead - his thoughts inspire her. As in the poetic paintings of Giorgione (1477-1510) or Titian (1488 / 90-1576), it seems that the theme is the magical effect of the lyrical poetic song.
High relief is considered one of the best plastic works of the Venetian Renaissance and a masterpiece of Lombardo, who was a leading sculptor in Venice in 1500.
