Biography
1968-1973 - Yerevan Polytechnic Institute . Electrical Engineer.
1973-1984 - performed commercial work.
1984-1986 - worked at Armenergomashin as Secretary of the Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
1986-1988 - instructor of the Komsomol of the city committee of the Armenian SSR .
1988-1990 - First Secretary of the Gugark District Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
1991-1995 - was a member of the Constitutional Commission of the Supreme Council of Armenia .
July 28, 1995 - elected to parliament. Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on State Legal Issues. Chairman of the Political Council of the PRA (LD).
1996-1998 - was elected the first governor of the Lori region .
1998 - was a candidate for the presidency of Armenia .
1998-2004 - was the chairman of the "Liberal Progressive Party" of Armenia.
