Georg Moller ( him. Georg Moller ; January 21, 1784 , Diepholz , Lower Saxony - March 13, 1852 , Darmstadt , Hesse ) - German architect , town planner, architectural historian . Along with KF Schinkel and L. Klenze is considered an outstanding representative of classicism and romanticism .

Biography
Born into a family of pastors, people from Norway.
He studied in Hanover , Karlsruhe and Italy . During his studies, he met Friedrich Weinbrenner .
After returning to his homeland, he entered the service of Prince of Hesse-Darmstadt . As a court architect and urban designer, he carried out a number of famous projects.
Among his students were Hugo von Ritgen , Friedrich Maximilian Gessemer , Ferdinand Stadler and others.
In 1818 he convinced the Grand Duke of Hesse-Darmstadt to adopt the first decree on the protection of architectural monuments. This was the first legal basis for the protection of monuments in Germany.
G. Moller played an important role in the completion of the Cologne Cathedral , which had stood for many centuries in an incomplete form.
