Serie C ( Italian: Serie C ) is the third most important division in the Italian football league system , below Serie B and Serie A. Managed by the Italian Professional Football League, it is also the League Pro ( Italian: Lega Pro ). It was originally founded in 1938 as Series C, in 1978 it was abolished and divided into the First Division (Series C1) and the Second Division (Series C2) of the Pro League. Restored as League Pro in 2014 [1] , in 2017 the historical name is finally returned [2] .

Homegrown Players
According to the regulations, League Pro clubs have the right to declare no more than 16 players over the age of 23 years (in the season 2016/2017 - those born on January 1, 1994) plus two more long-playing athletes. The number of players under 23 is not limited [3] .
