The Berd River floodplain is part of the Priazovsky National Natural Park (since 2010), a landscape reserve of local significance (1994-2010), located on the territory of the Berdyansk City Council ( Zaporizhia region , Ukraine ). The area is 1,416.9 ha.

According to the Ramsar Convention with a special protection regime, wetlands of international importance “The mouth of the river Berd, Berdyansk Bay and Berdyansk Spit” are partly included in the reserve and then (since 2010) of the Azov national natural park.
Content
History
It was created by the decision of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Council dated December 10, 1994 No. 759/94 (“About commissioned reserves of official value”). He became part of the Priazovskiy National Natural Park - partly protected, regulated recreation and economic zones [1] , established on February 10, 2010 in accordance with the decree of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.
Description
It occupies a floodplain (right bank) and the mouth of the river Berd . On the territory of the reserve, the floodplain of the river is occupied by floods with many lakes connected by the watercourses of the river Berd. The reserve zone is located between the villages Staropetrovka and Novovasilyevka, city cemetery # 2. Part of the reserve is not included in the Priazovsky NPP: the area between the Mariupol highway and the coast of the Azov Sea - the width from the middle of the tract Sladky Liman to Lake Krugloe is the hunting ground of the Berdyansk Leskhoz State Enterprise.
The reserve was created to protect typical and unique steppe and aquatic natural complexes of the northwestern coast of the Azov Sea: the mouth part of the floodplain of the River Byrd. Adjacent to the east is the water area of the Belosaraysky Bay - the economic zone of the Azov Prize NPP; in the south - a group of lakes - the zone of regulated recreation of Priazovsky NPP, in the north - the holiday village Makort of Berdyansk, in the north - the village Staropetrovka and Novopetrovka.
The nearest town is Berdyansk .
