Geography
The village is located 24 kilometers southwest of the Volodarsky district center on the Konnaya River in the Volga Delta. The distance to the center of Astrakhan in a straight line is about 63 kilometers. The distance from the northern outskirts of the village to the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 3 kilometers. The nearest village - the village Novomyayachnoye - is located 2 kilometers southeast of the center of Novokrasnoye.

According to the All-Russian Census in 2010 , the population was 295 people (146 men, 149 women, 49.5 and 50.5 %% respectively) [1] .
According to the 2002 census , in the national structure of the population, Russians make up 71%, Kazakhs 29% of the total number of 303 residents [4] .
Infrastructure
In the village there is a shop, a comprehensive school, a post office .
Transport
There is a bus stop in the village, there is one inter-district route connecting Novokrasnoye with Astrakhan through the village of Volodarsky. There are twelve-seater minibuses on the route. From Astrakhan to Novokrasnoe departure twice a day - at 10:00 and at 16:00. One way road takes 2 hours 17 minutes [5] .
