History
The street was formed on the site of a canal dug in the first quarter of the 18th century (and later filled up), which was used to power machines in the foundry-cannon yard.
Names: Dementiev oblique lane (used in 1783-1875), Dementiev lane (used in 1822-1875), Oblique lane (used since 1828). The lane received its modern name on January 14, 1974 in honor of the Soviet small arms designer V. G. Fedorov , who lived here (in house 2) from 1874 to 1918.
From October 18, 2016, one-way traffic from Gagarinskaya Street to Fontanka was introduced on the street [1] .

Interesting Facts
Due to the “triangle” with the embankment and Tchaikovsky Street, there is only one house on the even side (d. 2) and nine on the odd (from 1 to 17), despite the almost identical length of the walls of the houses on each side.
