Description
The length of the workers is about 3 mm. It differs from closely related species ( Aenictus biroi , Aenictus vieti ) in the following features: the shape of the propodeum, the sloping surface of the propodeum is more rounded and wider in A. vieti (already narrowing distinctly in A. camposi ); subpetiolar protrusion with anteroventral acute angle in A. vieti (unarmed in A. camposi ), body proportions. Antennae 10-segmented. The head is smooth and shiny. Clypeus along front margin with several denticles. On the mandibles about 10 teeth. The main color is tan. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen in workers consists of two segments, and in females and males - of one ( petiol ). The workers have no eyes. The promenodal furrow is not developed, pronotum and mesonotum merged. Cases of hunting for ants of the genus Paratrechina and Prenolepis naoroji [1] [2] [3] are known.
