Biography

Came from the nobles of the Poltava province . Brother - Vice Admiral A.S. Gorkovenko . In service since 1833, since 1834, after graduating from the Naval Cadet Corps, he was promoted to midshipman with the determination of the Baltic Fleet .

In 1849 he was promoted to lieutenant commander . Since 1856, captain of the 2nd rank , senior adjutant of the headquarters of the port of Kronstadt . since 1858, the duty headquarters officer of the headquarters of the squadron of the Mediterranean Sea . In 1859 he was promoted to captain of the 1st rank . Since 1860, chairman of the Military Court Commission in St. Petersburg . In 1867 he was promoted to rear admiral . In 1876 he was promoted to vice admiral with the appointment of a member of the Main Naval Court.

From 1886 to 1908, the senator was present and first present in the II, V departments and in the Department of the Herald of the Governing Senate . In 1899 he was promoted to admiralty general. He was awarded all orders up to the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky with diamond signs granted to him on January 1, 1900 [2] .
