Biography

Nikolai G. Trupak was born on April 30, 1903 in the Donbass , in a working class family. At the end of the Lisichansk Mining College, N. G. Trupak was appointed assistant manager of mine No. 28-29, and then head of mine No. 32 of the Bokoanthracit mine. In 1923, the Bokovoanthracite district committee of the Union of Miners sent N. Trupak to study at the Moscow Mining Academy , after which he was left at the academy in 1930 (then the Moscow Mining Institute (now the Mining Institute NUST “MISiS” )) to prepare for scientific activity at the department "Mine construction", and in 1931 he was appointed assistant to this department. By the decision of the Qualification Commission of the People's Commissariat of Industry of the USSR in 1933, N. G. Trupak was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Mine Construction.

From 1933 to 1936, N. G. Trupakh worked on the construction of the subway as the head of work on freezing soils. For this work in 1935 he was awarded the Order of Lenin by a decree of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR . In 1936-1939 He worked in the design and research sector of the Moscow Mining Institute. In 1939, he was elected by competition to the post of associate professor at the All-Union Industrial Academy .

During the Great Patriotic War, N. G. Trupak worked in Altai as the head of special works, and from 1945 to 1949 in Tsentrospetsstroy, first as a consultant, and then as chief project engineer.

In 1946, N. G. Trupak was awarded the Stalin Prize of the USSR for the radical improvement of the method of performing work on artificial freezing of soils and its widespread introduction into the practice of building underground structures. In 1947, the Council of the Institute of Mining of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Nikolai Grigorievich was awarded the degree of candidate of technical sciences, and in 1949 he was elected assistant professor of the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic Institute , where until 1971 he served as dean of the mining faculty.

In 1956, N. G. Trupak was awarded the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences, in the same year he was awarded the title of professor.

In addition to the above educational institutions, he lectured for many years at the Kiev and Kharkov mining institutes, as well as at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers and at the Academy of Coal Industry. For work in high school he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and medals.

As a highly qualified specialist, N. G. Trupak was involved in work in the Polish People’s Republic , the Mongolian People’s Republic , India and Egypt (for the construction of the Aswan High Dam ).

He died in December 1981, was buried in the Kuntsevo cemetery .

In 1988, N. G. Trupak was awarded the USSR State Prize “for the development and implementation of the technology for building mine shafts using low-temperature freezing of rocks”.

Scientific and educational activities

N. G. Trupak, while still a student, was the first in our country to use the method of artificial freezing of rocks during the construction of mine workings. The first industrial implementations of this method were carried out under his leadership in the construction of the metro stations Lermontovskaya ( Krasnye Vorota ), Kirovskaya ( Chistye Prudy ) and Dzerzhinskaya ( Lubyanka ) of the first stage of the Moscow Metro. At present, this method is the main and most reliable and widespread special method of driving mine workings in weak and heavily flooded rocks. In this regard, the original works of N. G. Trupak “Cementation of fractured rocks in mining”, “Carrying out mining by special methods”, “Freezing rocks during shaft sinking”, “Freezing soils in construction”, etc. are still in demand.

He participated in the I and V international mountain congresses, many scientific and technical conferences. He prepared 18 candidates of technical sciences, wrote 130 scientific papers, including 7 monographs and 4 study guides for universities and technical schools.
