Emilis Šljakis ( lit. Emilis Šlekys , August 6, 1951 , Pabirzhe, Birzai district - October 30, 2012 ) - Soviet and Lithuanian chess player , ICCF international master , Honored Trainer of Lithuania.

Champion of the Lithuanian SSR in 1985. 1996 Lithuanian bronze medalist.
Champion DSO "Nemunas" (1973). Three-time champion of the city of Birzai (1968, 1969 and 1971).
In the national team of the Lithuanian SSR, the winner of the 7th USSR team championship in correspondence (1981-1984, the best result on the 5th board). In the next team championship of the USSR, he won a silver medal with the team.
As part of the Lithuanian national team, the silver medalist of the 12th correspondence Olympiad (world team championship). He was the captain of the team.
Since 1975, he worked as a coach at the Vilnius Chess and Drafts School. Since 1987 he was the principal of the school.
In 2011, he was awarded a large gold medal of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Lithuania.
In 2013, the E. Šljakis Memorial by correspondence began.
