Bergmann Mars - a self-loading pistol , designed by Theodor Bergmann and Louis Schmeiser for the military market. The Bergmann Mars pistol is somewhat similar in appearance to the weapons of a potential competitor for the military order market - the Mauser C96 . The Bergmann Mars pistol is a further deep modernization of the early designs of the short-barreled weapons of Bergmann and Schmeiser . The weapon was developed after Theodor Bergmann divided the design activity into two separate areas: the development of a pistol for the civilian market - Bergmann Simplex and a military pistol - Bergmann Mars.
