The nature reserve “Bolonsky” was established on November 18, 1997 in the Khabarovsk Territory . The territory of the reserve is located on the Mid-Amur lowland, adjoins the lake Bolon from the southwest, occupies the interfluve of the Simmi and Harpi rivers and partially covers wetlands of international importance . The area of the reserve is 103.6 thousand hectares.

The reserve location area is a place for nesting and mass concentration during the passage of waterfowl and rare birds. The main objective of the reserve is the implementation of the protection of natural areas in order to preserve biological diversity and maintain the natural state of protected natural complexes and objects.
Flora and fauna
The predominant type of vegetation of the reserve is swamps , which occupy 87% of the territory. You can observe about 250 species of birds, about 160 species of which nest, the total number of rare species is more than 35.
