Franz Grenet ( Frantz Grenet , born November 6, 1952, Grusche-le-Valas, Normandy) - French archaeologist , a specialist in the history of Central Asia and Zoroastrianism . Biography
In 1975, at the Paris Higher Normal School, he received an aggregation of history. From 1972 to 1977, he studied there at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations, as well as the Practical School of Higher Studies, in the latter two he studied Persian and Middle Iranian languages, respectively.

From 1981 to 2013, he was an employee of the National Center for Scientific Research , and from 2005, Director of Research. Since 1999, he has been a professor ( Directeur d'études ) in the religious studies section of the Practical School of Higher Studies. In 2001, a visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley.
Since 2013, Professor College de France in the Department of History and Culture of Pre-Islamic Central Asia. In 2017, a visiting professor at China People's University in Beijing.
Since 2012, President of Société Européenne pour l'Etude des Civilizations de l'Himalaya et de l'Asie Centrale (SEECHAC).
The author of four books and about 170 articles.
