Naryn ( Taragay [1] ; Kyrgyz. Naryn , Uzbek. Norin ) is a river in Central Asia . It flows through the territory of Issyk-Kul , Naryn , Jalal-Abad regions of Kyrgyzstan and Namangan region of Uzbekistan .

Hydrography
The length of Naryn is 807 km, the basin area is 59.9 thousand km². Formed by the confluence of the rivers Big Naryn and Small Naryn , originating in the glaciers of the Central Tien Shan . It flows in the intermountain valley, sometimes in narrow gorges. The average flow rate at the mouth is 480 m³ / s, the maximum flow rate is 2820 cubic meters / sec. suspended sediment - 760 kg / s. Glacial- snow food. High water from May to August. Maximum flow in June - July. The upper reaches freezes. Mineralization of water 200-500 mg / l, increases to the mouth, especially at low water . In the upper reaches of the river is the Naryn State Reserve with an area of 91023.5 ha. Naryn has many tributaries. The largest of them are: (right) Kekemeren, Kara-Suu (right), Uzun-Akmat, Chychkan, On-Archa, Torken, Kazhyrty, (left) At-Bashy, Alabuga, Kek-irim, Kara-Suu (lion. )
Business Activities
Water is used for irrigation. The Great Ferghana Canal and the Northern Ferghana Canal originate from Naryn. The river has significant energy resources; Toktogul hydroelectric power station , Tash-Kumyrskaya hydroelectric power station , Uchkurgan hydroelectric power station , Kurpsayskaya hydroelectric power station , Shamaldyysay hydroelectric power station are located on it , the Kambarata hydroelectric power station-2 and the cascade of Verkhne-Naryn hydroelectric power stations with corresponding reservoirs are under construction. On the banks of the river are the cities: Naryn , Tash-Kumyr , Uchkurgan .
