Name and location

The cottage is located in the central part of Yevpatoriya, on the shore of the [1] Black Sea , in the first “resort area”.

The local historian connects the strange name for the Crimea and tsarist Russia with its location, since it stands on a sandy strip washed by the sea, outside the fortress walls, that is, on the outskirts of the city. Just like the Dutch city of Ostend , which was also originally located on the eastern (Dutch. Oost) tip (Dutch. Einde) of the island of Testerep, and when the sea level dropped, it merged with the mainland.

Building Description

The building of the summer house belongs to the Evpatorian modernist architecture , and the project itself, as defined by local historians , is attributed to the architect Pavel Seferov . The facade of the cottage is facing the street . Green spaces remained on the territory, which created the comfort of the courtyard and strengthened the soil cover.

History

It is not known for certain who Krivitsky is and what prompted him to build a summer house in Yevpatoriya. According to the legend of those times, already in 1910, the cottage was settled. Researchers of Yevpatoriya claim that the author-architect of the building was the famous Yevpatorian architect of Armenian origin Pavel Yakovlevich (Bogos Akopovich) Seferov .

It all started with the fact that the then leadership of the city tried to interest Russian business with the prospects of creating a resort in Yevpatoria and offered them shares in the form of plots on the coast (provided that they develop infrastructure: gardens, landscaping, paving roads). The local rich and karaites (who recently moved to cities compactly) responded to the call of the authorities.

The shore in those years was a narrow strip of sand washed up by the waves, which then passed into a wide field covered with grasses (grasshopper, buckwheat) and rare olive bushes (goose narrow-leaved). Such limited vegetation kept the sand from transferring under the influence of winds, therefore, the city government obliged summer residents to green the territory: three quarters of the allocated share of the land should be planted with trees and bushes. Therefore, Krivitsky's cottage, located on the first line, has a large and beautiful garden.

The heyday of the estate

The heyday of the estate occurred during the First World War . When a large number of wounded Russian officers were sent to the Crimea to improve their health. The contrast between the scourge of war and rest, combined with the healing properties of mud therapy and the sea, popularized Evpatoria. Therefore, the owners of the estates were happy to give their buildings to hostels for the military, although at least some of them did not survive [2] .

Holiday complex in Soviet times

Radical changes: the revolution in Russia, the collapse of the empire , the Civil War and the assertion of the Bolshevik authorities led to the nationalization of the cottage.

A long time of mismanagement and robbery negatively affected the building. The summer cottage began to collapse, then the local party leaders turned to the numerous labor collectives of the Country of the Soviets to take patronage over the majority of cottages and estates "nationalized by the bourgeoisie". Thus, a resort of all-Union significance was born in the city, and since 1925 , the building of the sanatorium “Drummer” began to work in the country [3] .

Modernity

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Crimean region, the cottage Krivitsky refers to the monuments of architecture and urban planning and is protected by applicable law . Since it has already become a tradition that this building belonged to a spa institution for almost a hundred years, the building was not alienated into city property, but was assigned to a well-known sanatorium, which is engaged in its conservation, restoration and maintenance. Now Krivitsky's dacha is located on the territory of the Victory resort center of the Udarnik sanatorium [4]

The building of the medical institution is located in the summer cottage. It treats diseases of the respiratory system (non-tuberculosis), musculoskeletal system , nervous system , circulatory system , gynecological diseases , skin diseases , diseases of the musculoskeletal system , diseases of the genitourinary system [5] .

Notes

  1. ↑ Evpatoria in the pre-revolutionary years disposed of huge sandy beaches on the flat terrain
  2. ↑ World War I contributed to the growing popularity of the city as a resort and attracting investment for its development. The railway that appeared in Yevpatoriya 1915 is taken to treat wounded officers and lower ranks
  3. ↑ Since the mid-20s, life in the city has been improving thanks to NEP and the creation of an all-Union resort on the basis of former sanatoriums: “Red Army” (“Primorsky”), “named after Semashko ”(“ Thalassa ”), as well as cottages located along the seashore:“ Svetlana ”(“ Carmen ”by Duvan),“ Drummer ”(“ Riviera ”by Shishman +“ Ostend ”Krivitsky +“ Jalita ”Bobovich + cottage Casas), (unopened) (inaccessible link) .
