Geographical position
The settlement and the peninsula (where it is located) are located in the western part of Yekaterinburg in the Vizovsky microdistrict of the Verkh-Isetsky district , in the eastern part of the Verkh-Isetsky pond [1] .
Nature
The terrain of the peninsula is rocky, the surrounding area is marshy. Prevailing vegetation: conifers (pines), mosses, lichens, herbaceous plants, shrubs, birches.
Water Resources
The peninsula is located in the water area of the Upper Iset pond, a backup source of water supply in Yekaterinburg. In the vicinity of the peninsula lies the bed of the Iset River and Lake Zdohnia.
Transportation
It is connected to the city with 1 road and 1 route of public transport - tram route No. 11, going along a single track from VISA, the Green Island bus stop. On the embankment of the former UZD you can go to the Novomoskovskiy tract. From the peninsula go to the dam island Baran and High. History
The peninsula was formed in 1726-1727, as a consequence of the creation of an artificial reservoir, the Upper Iset pond.
The settlement on the peninsula (the village of Bolshoi Konny) originated in 1923, when the construction of a water supply system in the city and a high-capacity power station began. The name of the peninsula comes from the name of the village, in turn, the village got its name in honor of the horse trail along which peat was taken from the peat plant on a wide river. In 1925, the opening of 1 in the city of the pipeline to the Upper Iset village, which attracted great attention of the public and the press. In 1927, the Sverdlovsk TPP was launched, which allowed the electrification of Ekaterinburg. The main part of the buildings was built for Vodokanal employees. In 1936, for the workers of the power station, a communal house was built in constructivism style. In 1937 a school appeared in the village. In 1965, the Sverdlovsk TPP was stopped and the village became monodirected, serving only Vodokanal enterprises.
Currently, there are plans for the complete liquidation of the village, if Ekaterinburg is entitled to an international exhibition Expo 2025. [2] [3]

In the village is located the second power plant in the city, now the abandoned Sverdlovsk hydroelectric station . Also located there is the House of Commons in 1936, built in the style of constructivism, a school in the style of neo - classicism (now abandoned) and the beach. Another attraction is the entertainment center CUBA BEACH CLUB, which is very popular in some circles. Single track tram line.
