Prenolepis striata (lat.) Is a species of ants of the genus Prenolepis from the subfamily Formicinae ( Formicidae ), including small in size and, as a rule, ground insects [1] .

DescriptionThe workers are small, have a length of about 4 mm, the main color is brown (abdomen to black). It differs from closely related species ( P. angularis ) by the dull surface of the head, the mesosomes of the pedicle with punctures and grooves; large eyes. Posterior loin rounded without propodeal spines. Antennae long, in females and workers, 12-segmented. The sting of the workers with 6 teeth. The mandibular palpi 6-segmented, lower labial palpi consists of 4 segments. Middle and hind tibiae with apical spurs. The stalk between the breast and the belly consists of one segment ( petiol ) [1] [2] [3] .
ClassificationThe species was first described in 2018 by Chinese mirmecologists (Chen, Zhilin & Zhou, Shanyi; Guangxi Normal University , Guilin County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region , China) [1] .
