Club career

In adult football, he made his debut in 1960 with performances for the Beveren team from his hometown, in which he spent five seasons, taking part in 121 championship matches. Most of the time spent in the “Beveren”, was the main player of the team and one of the club's top scorers, having an average performance of 0.46 goals per championship game, which helped the team in the 1962/63 season to leave the fourth division in the third.

During 1965-1968 he defended the colors of "Antwerp" , winning in 1966 for the first time the title of football player of the year in Belgium.

After the departure of "Antwerp" Van Moore in the summer of 1968 moved to the "Standard" (Liege) . He played for the team from Liege the next eight seasons of his playing career. Playing in the "Standard" also mostly went on the field in the first team. During this time, three times won the title of champion of Belgium , as well as two more times recognized as the best player in Belgium.

Subsequently, since 1976, Wilfrid spent four seasons for Beringen, after which he returned to his native Beveren , who, during the absence of van Moore, was able to reach the top division and win the championship in 1979.

He completed a professional playing career at the club “Saint-Truiden” , which he played during 1982-1984, and in the second season he was the playing coach of the team.

National team performances

On October 22, 1966, he made his debut in official games as part of the Belgian national team in a friendly match against Switzerland (1: 0).

As a member of the national team, he participated in the 1970 World Championships in Mexico , the 1980 European Championships in Italy , where he won silver with the team, and the 1982 World Championships in Spain .

During his career in the national team, which lasted 17 years, he played 57 matches in the form of the country's main team, scoring 9 goals.

Career Coach

After a brief job, playing coach at St-Truiden, Van Moore, without much success, worked as a coach in several teams.

In 1995, he became an assistant to the then Belgian national team coach Paul van Himst . After his resignation in April 1996 for an unsuccessful qualification for Euro 1996 , Wilfried took over the post of national team coach. He held the first two meetings in a draw with Russia (0: 0) and Italy (2: 2), and then won in two selection games for the 1998 World Cup (2: 1 with Turkey and 3: 0 with San Marino). However, in the third match his players lost 0: 3 to the Netherlands and van Moore resigned a month after this defeat on January 21, 1997.
