Club career
Corneliu Papure began his career as a footballer in the Romanian University Club from his hometown. In 1993, in his composition Papure won the Romanian Cup. In 1996, the defender moved to the French " Rennes ". On August 10 of the same year, he made his debut in the French Division 1 , coming out in the first team in the away match against Bastia [2] . Two months later, the Romanians scored their first goal in the league, bringing the score to devastating in a home game with Kann [3] .
In 1999, Papure returned to Universitatu, and then played for the Romanian Progressul , Israeli Beitar , Cyprus AEL , Chinese Changchun Yatai and Guangzhou Evergrand Taobao . At the same time, he returned twice to the “University” and once to “Petrolul”, where he completed his playing career.
Career in the national team
On February 13, 1994, Corneliu Papure debuted for the national team of Romania in a match of a friendly tournament against the US team , leaving the main part [4] .
The defender was included in the national team of Romania at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the USA, where he played in two matches: the group stage with Colombia [5] and the 1/8 final with Argentina [6] . In both cases, he took to the pitch at the very end of the games.
