The Pugachev Monument was erected in the city of Saransk on Volgogradskaya Street in the historical district of the city - Posop in 1985. The author of the monument is the sculptor and painter G. Glickman [1] . The monument is carved from a white granite slab.

Description
The monument to Emelyan Pugachev was erected at the place where in 1774 from June 27 to July 3 the headquarters of the rebel forces was led by Pugachev, immediately after the capture of the city. Pugachev liberated the serfs, distributed requisitioned wealth to his troops, and considered a plan for further action [2] .
The monument rises on a pedestal erected from stone blocks. The composition of the monument located on a hill symbolizes Pugachev looking at the conquered city, his hands are folded behind his back. A stone wall with three metal cannons surrounds the monument around the perimeter [3] .
The monument is included in the list of cultural heritage of the Republic of Mordovia [1] .
