Stoycho Stoilov ( Bulgarian. Stoycho Stoilov , October 15, 1971 ) - a former Bulgarian football player , who played the position of midfielder for the Bulgarian national team . Now he works in the leadership of the CSKA from Sofia.

Content

Club career

Stoycho Stoilov played for the Pirin Bulgarian clubs from his native Blagoevgrad , CSKA Moscow , Dobrudzha and Litex . In 1999, he moved to the German Nürnberg , with whom he won the Second Bundesliga in 2001. On July 28 of the same year, he made his debut in the Bundesliga , leaving the first team in the away match with Borussia Dortmund [2] .

In 2002, Stoilov returned to Bulgaria, to the Litex club. There he became a captain, but he broke his leg in a duel with the Sofia CSKA. On November 14 of the same year, the footballer received three bullet wounds from a former soldier Simeon Mechev [3] . Stoilov was able to recover, but this incident put an end to his professional football career. The offender was sentenced to 10 years in prison, of which he stayed in custody six [4] . Mechev was early released in August 2011. [5]

Subsequently, Stoilov began to work in the management of the Litex club [6] .

Career in the national team

On March 25, 1998, Stoycho Stoilov made his debut for the Bulgarian national team in a guest friendly match against Macedonia , replacing him in the middle of the second half [7] . A month later, he scored his first and only goal for the national team, having noted in a home friendly game with Morocco [8] .

The midfielder was included in the Bulgarian national team at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, but never entered the pitch during the tournament.

Education

Stoycho Stoilov graduated with honors from Sofia University in two specialties: English and journalism. He is a well-known public speaker and authoritative specialist in Bulgarian grammar.
