Career

Smons was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire . He played more than 100 league matches for each of his first three clubs: Portsmouth , Manchester City and Fulham . For the last, he played until December 2001, and then was signed by Crystal Palace for £ 400,000, the club in which he ended his career after 60 matches.

International Career

Simons played 36 matches for Wales , scoring twice. His first appearance was against the Republic of Ireland on February 19, 1992, and the last was on October 6, 2001 against Belarus. Simons, despite being born in England, could play in Wales because his father was from Cardiff of Wales [1] .
