Haika Grossman ( November 20, 1919 - May 26, 1996 ) - Israeli politician, member of the Knesset . In her youth she was a Zionist leader in Eastern Europe, a partisan and underground in the ghetto .

Biography
Born in Bialystok . In his youth, Hashomer-Hatzair entered the movement and was sent to Brest-Litovsk . Since the beginning of the war, posing as a polka, helped the Jewish Resistance, was a liaison between the ghettos.
In 1948 she made aliyah to Israel. [2]
In the years 1969-1988 she was a member of the Knesset. She dealt a lot with social policy and women's rights. She passed laws on the right to abortion , in favor of young people at risk and against the beating of children by their parents.
In 1993, she fell after a torch-lighting ceremony on Israel Independence Day , where she was invited to light a torch. She lay in a coma for three years and died in 1996.
