Devoli [1] [2] , Devol ( Alb. Devolli ) is a river in Albania . Merging with the Osumi River in the region of the city of Kuchova in the eponymous district in the Berat region, it forms the Semani River [3] . It originates on the western slopes of the Gramos ridge [4] . The river is 181 kilometers long. The catchment area is 3240 square kilometers, the average height of the catchment basin is 960 meters above sea level. Crosses the intermountain Korchinskaya depression, where the river previously formed the now drained shallow lake . It flows in a north-west direction, at the village of it turns south. Autumn-winter floods , summer low water . The average water flow at the mouth is 80 cubic meters per second and the total amount of loose (insoluble) material transported by water is 12.5 × 10 6 tons / year [5] [6] . Water is used for irrigation [7] . Since 2013, the Norwegian company building a cascade of two hydroelectric power stations on the river: and [8] [9] .

In ancient times, the Devoli River was known as the Eordike River [10] ( dr. Greek Εορδαϊκός , lat. Eordaïcus ) [11] . In the upper reaches of the river was the medieval fortified city of Devol .
