The 2nd African Drafts-64 Championship among men was held from July 8 to July 14, 2018 in Blantyre , Malawi in the main program formats, quick drafts and blitz. The main program was conducted on Russian drafts , blitz was held on the pool checker, quick drafts were held on Brazilian drafts . The championship was held by the IDF International Drafts Federation together with the African Drafts Confederation and the Malawi Drafts Association (ADMA) with the support of the Government and the Malawi National Sports Council and became qualifiers for the 2019 World Drafts-64 Championship [1] . Chief Justice Alexander Nikiforov. The prize fund is $ 3100 [2] .
The winner receives the title of international grandmaster , for the winner of the second place is awarded the title of international master, for third place is assigned the title of master of IDF. Team classification was also held in all formats.

The competition was held in Russian drafts ( Swiss system in 9 rounds). Time control 30 minutes + 5 seconds per move. 34 drafts players from 8 countries participated.
