Mustafa Al-Haddawi ( Arabic: مصطفى الحداوي , July 28, 1961 ) is a former Moroccan footballer who played as a midfielder for the Moroccan national team .

Club career

Mustafa Al-Haddawi began his career as a football player in the Moroccan club Raja Casablanca . In 1985, he moved to the Swiss Lausanne . On August 7 of the same year, the midfielder made his debut in the Swiss National League A , leaving the first team in the home match against La Chaux-de-Fonds [1] . Three weeks later, El-Haddawi scored his first goal in the league, scoring in his home game with the Young Boys team [2] .

In the summer of 1987, the Moroccan became the footballer of the French Saint Etienne . On August 1 of that year, El-Haddawi scored his first goal in French Division 1 , equalizing the score in the home match with Nantes [3] .

In 1988, Mustafa El-Haddawi moved to Nice , in 1990 to Lance , and in 1993 to Angers . With the last one following the results of the 1993/94 season, he flew to Division 2. In 1996, the Moroccan went to the distant Reunion , where he played for the local “ Joan of Arc ” and soon ended his playing career.

Career in the national team

Mustafa Al-Haddawi played for Morocco at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games football tournament in the USA, where he played two matches: with Germany [4] and Saudi Arabia [5] .

Al-Haddawi was included in the Moroccan national team for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, where he played in three games: the group stage with Poland [6] and Portugal [7] , as well as the 1/8 finals with Germany [8] .

At the 1994 World Championships in the United States, El-Haddawi appeared on the field in only one match, leaving the starting lineup in a game with Belgium [9] .
