Career

In early 2010, Rodriguez, in the status of an international free agent, signed a contract with Baltimore Orioles . In the same season, he began his professional career at Baltimore Farm Clubs in the Dominican Summer League, and the following year at the Gulf Coast League. In 2012, he played 22 games for Delmarvu Shorbords and was named Baseball America fifth in the ranking of promising Orioles players. In the spring of 2013, he was first invited to the pre-season training camp for the main team. With the start of the championship, he was transferred to the Frederick Keyes in the A-League, and later a higher level in the Bowie Baysox. In the same year, Eduardo received an invitation to the All-Star Game of the Future [1] [2] [3] .

Before the start of the 2014 championship, he also worked at the training camp with the main team of Orioles, after which he again went to play for Baysox. During the season, Eduardo won three victories with seven defeats and an ERA transmittance of 4.79. At the end of July, Baltimore exchanged the Boston Red Sox player for the Andrew Miller relays . Performances in the Red Sox system Rodriguez began at the Portland Sea Dogs club in the Eastern League [4] .

The main part of “Boston” Eduardo made his debut in May 2015 in a game against the Texas Rangers . Having won 7 2/3 of the inning without missing points, Rodriguez became the youngest pitcher in the history of the team to win the first game of his career away, since 1967 [5] . In total, he played in the championship in 21 matches, scoring ten wins with six losses and an ERA of 3.85.

He missed the start of the 2016 season due to problems with his right knee [6] . At the end of June, after losing to Tampa with a score of 7:13, Rodriguez was severely criticized by teammate Dustin Pedroy and was later transferred to the Pawtuck Red Sox in the AAA League [7] .

In the championship of 2017, he spent twenty games for the Red Sox, missing the spring part of the season due to recurrence of a knee injury. In December, he again injured him while playing in the winter league in Venezuela [8] . Having recovered by the start of the championship, Eduardo had a great start to the season, scoring seven wins in twelve games with one defeat with an ERA of 3.68, and his team won eleven of these matches [9] .

Game Style

The scouts noted Rodriguez's throwing technique, the fact that he was right-handed since birth and started throwing with his left after a broken arm at the age of seven was especially noted. The main serve of the player is fastball with a speed of 90-94 miles per hour. Thanks to good control of the ball, he also effectively uses the changer-up and slider [1] .
