Club career
Andem was born in the city of Douala . In adult football, he made his debut in 1989 with performances for a team from his hometown “ Union Douala ” (including acting on loan at the Olympic Club “Privatization”), in which he spent two seasons. After that, he went to Brazil, where he signed a contract with Cruzeiro and fought for a place in the first team with Dida . The Cameroonian lost the competition and played only 9 matches for 3 seasons. As part of the Cruzeiro in 1996, he won the Brazil Cup . Later he moved to a much more modest club “Bahia” , which included two seasons.
His game for the last team attracted the attention of representatives of the coaching staff of the club "Boavista" , to which he joined in January 1998. In the Portuguese championship he debuted on August 21, 1998 in a victorious (2-0) duel against Vitoria . William defended the match “to zero”. He played for the club from Porto for the next ten seasons of his playing career. During the first season in the Portuguese team was the main goalkeeper, having played 29 matches. At the end of that season, “Boavista” took second place in the championship, having the opportunity to play in the second qualifying round of the Champions League . In the 2000/01 season, he won the Portuguese Championship. The start in the Champions League for Boavista players can be considered successful. After the Angolan goalkeeper was sold to Steaua , Andem again became the main goalkeeper, after which he played 43 bouts in the Portuguese championship in the next 2 seasons.
He completed a professional gaming career in the club " Feirense " from the second league , for the team which played during 2007-2008. That season, he was only the second goalkeeper of the team. At the time of the completion of the player’s career, Andem turned 40 years old.
