Anya Dorfman ( born Ania Dorfmann ; July 9, 1899 , Odessa - April 21, 1982 , New York ) is an American pianist and music teacher of Russian origin.

Biography
In adolescence, she performed a duet with Yasha Kheifets . She graduated from the Paris Conservatory with Isidore Philippe , lived in France.
Since 1920 , she has performed extensively throughout Europe, in 1936 she made her debut in the United States and subsequently recorded and taught mainly here. In particular, Dorfman performed the First Concert and Beethoven Choral Fantasy with the NBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Arturo Toscanini (1939, there are concert recordings of both works, the concert was also recorded in studio in 1945) and is considered the first female soloist to whom Toscanini agreed to perform. Since 1966 , Dorfman taught at the Juilliard School .
