Architecture
The four-storey building with a turret was built in the spirit of the red-brick eclecticism typical of the beginning of the 20th century. The facade is preserved almost intact. It is decorated with decorative elements of plaster and rusticated pilasters . On the first floor, there were originally large windows with brick trim , but they were later laid. The first floor is separated from the second by a notched cornice . The windows of the second floor have platbands of rectangular shape, and the windows of the third - arched [2] .
The internal layout of the building has undergone significant changes. The first floor was intended for the machine shop, it has high ceilings with vaulted ceilings. On the second and third floors were auxiliary facilities and facilities for staff. The central entrance is located in an extension from the courtyard, built a little later in a similar style [2] .
From 1909 to 1910 Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin , a future Soviet statesman and party activist, worked as a fitter at the Miussky electric tram substation. A memorial plaque mounted on the facade reminds of this [2] .
