Content
Biography
In the Russian service since 1783, after 20 years of service in the Dutch army, he was promoted to major engineer of the Russian Imperial Army . In 1787 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel . In 1790 he was promoted to colonel engineer . In 1794 he was promoted to major general . In 1798 he was promoted to lieutenant general . In 1799 he was promoted to general engineer . Since 1800, a member of the Department of Water Communications and the Road Expedition Expedition, supervised the construction of all roads in the Russian Empire [2] .
He died in 1809 in St. Petersburg , was buried in the Smolensk Lutheran cemetery [3] .
He was awarded all orders up to the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky with diamond signs granted to him on May 27, 1808 [4]
