Career

After leaving school, for two years, Yeo worked as a carpet stacker, and then in May 1992 he joined the army, joining the 22nd Cheshire Regiment. As a soldier, he traveled to Bosnia and Northern Ireland.

After leaving the army, he supplemented his semi-professional football career with numerous works, namely: a handyman on construction sites, installing toilets and a postman in his hometown of Stockport. The last days of his stay in Northern Ireland became the starting point in his becoming a football player. He played for Failmaytown United, in the northern Irish village of Cloher, and was part of the team that won the Mulhern Cup final in 1995, a tournament organized by the Fermanah & Western Football Association [1] .
