Season Overview
The tournament was held by the FICP under the auspices of the UCI . The tournament was sponsored by the French company Perrier [1] as a result of which it had the unofficial name "Coupe du monde Perrier" .
The tournament calendar consisted of 12 one-day races held in Europe and Canada, one of which ( Grand Prix de la Liberation ) was held in the format of a team race with a separate start .
The winner of the individual rating was the Irishman Sean Kelly . The second place was taken by the Swiss Tony Rominger , the third - the Dane Rolf Sørensen .
Among the teams of countries, PDM-Ultima-Concorde excelled. The second became Helvetia – La Suisse , the third - Histor-Sigma .
