Biography
Alexey Alexandrovich Nikolaev was born on April 24, 1931 in Moscow in a family of musicians. In 1953 he graduated from the Art History Department of the History Department of Moscow State University . In 1956 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (composition class V. Ya. Shebalin ). In 1959 - he also had graduate school, defended his thesis on the work of Zegers.
Since 1958 he taught at the Moscow Conservatory (composition class), was a professor.
He died on December 28, 2003 in Moscow. He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery (plot number 17).
