Biography
He graduated from the philological faculty of the Far Eastern University . He edited the Samizdat rock magazine with a distinct culturological bias “ FER ”. He worked as a passenger assistant to the captain, editor in the newspaper, assistant to the consul for press and information at the US Consulate General in Vladivostok . He translated television programs in the first in Russia media company with foreign capital - the Russian Broadcasting Corporation (RVC). In 1996-2003 supported the electronic library “ The Bench of Languages ”, published on this site a number of his own translations of William Burroughs , Guy Davenport , Jack Kerouac , Charles Bukowski and other English-speaking poets and prose writers [1] .
Since 2001 in Moscow , he collaborated as an editor and translator with leading publishing houses in Moscow and St. Petersburg . His translations of Kerouac’s novel “On the Road”, Bob Dylan ’s memoirs “Chronicles”, stories of Paul Bowles and many others are published. The critics were especially interested in the new translations by J. D. Salinger made by Nemtsov, which were polemical in relation to the classic translations of Rita Wright , Nora Gal and other masters of the Soviet translation school [2] .
Winner of the title " Editor of the Year " (2002), awarded by the newspaper " Book Review ". In 2012, he became one of the first winners of the Nora Gal Prize for translating a story from English [3] .
