Abdumavlyan Abdullaevich Abdullaev (07/13/1930) - Uzbek scientist in the field of taxonomy and speciation of cotton , corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (1979), academician (1995), honored worker of science of the Uzbek SSR (1980). Member of the CPSU in 1958-1991.

Born in the village of Pilal in the Pap district of Namangan region ( Uzbek SSR ) in the family of a rural teacher and collective farmer. He graduated from the Central Asian University of SAGU), the Faculty of Biology and Soil (1952), and graduate school of the All-Union Institute of Plant Production (1956, Leningrad). Pupil D.V. Ter-Avanesyan.
In 1957 he defended his thesis and began working at the Institute of Agriculture (later called the Research Institute of Experimental Plant Biology of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, now it is the Institute of Genetics and Experimental Plant Biology). Since 1963, after the death of F. M. Mauer , head. laboratory, from 1971 to 1982 director of the institute.
In 1982, he had a car accident and for health reasons left the post of director, after which he worked as the head of the laboratory. From 1985 to 1990 he was again the director of the research institute. Since 1990 - Head. the laboratory.
The author of scientific papers and practical recommendations on cotton breeding.
Doctor of Biological Sciences. Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR (1979, genetics and taxonomy of cotton), academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (elected on June 8, 1995. Specialty: Molecular genetics).
Honored Worker of Science of the Uzbek SSR (1980). He was awarded the orders of Lenin, the October Revolution, the Red Banner of Labor.
Member of the Supreme Council of the Uzbek SSR 8-10 convocations.
