In the women's tournament, the champion of Sweden (the 20th time in its history), the Swiss team in the final, became the champion. The German team won bronze medals (in the previous 20 years after 1998, the German women's team won a medal only once in European championships - they became champions in the 2009 championship ).

According to the results of the tournament, 7 strongest men's teams qualified to participate in the 2019 Men's World Championship ; The top 6 women's teams (as well as Denmark as the host country of the women's world championships) also directly qualified to participate in the 2019 women's world championships . Additionally, vouchers for the qualifying tournament for participation in the men's and women's world championships 2019 ( eng. En: 2019 World Qualification Event ), which will be held in the city of Nesby (New Zealand) in January 2019 [2] , received two of the best teams from group A, not directly qualified, as well as the two best teams from group B (men's teams: the Netherlands, Finland, England, Denmark; women's teams: the Czech Republic, Finland, Norway, Estonia).

The championship in group “C” was held in Copenhagen ( Denmark ) from 11 to 18 April 2018 [3] . The two best teams for men and women in the same year participated in group B tournaments. Among men, the first two places were taken by the teams of Denmark and Belarus, among women - by Slovakia and Poland [4] .
