In the men's tournament, the team of Scotland became the champion (13th time in its history), the team of Sweden which won the final. Bronze medals won the Italian team (this is only their second medal for all European championships, the first was also a bronze medal at the 1979 championship ).
In the women's tournament, the champion of Sweden (the 20th time in its history), the Swiss team in the final, became the champion. The German team won bronze medals (in the previous 20 years after 1998, the German women's team won a medal only once in European championships - they became champions in the 2009 championship ).
According to the results of the tournament, 7 strongest men's teams qualified to participate in the 2019 Men's World Championship ; The top 6 women's teams (as well as Denmark as the host country of the women's world championships) also directly qualified to participate in the 2019 women's world championships . Additionally, vouchers for the qualifying tournament for participation in the men's and women's world championships 2019 ( eng.En: 2019 World Qualification Event ), which will be held in the city of Nesby (New Zealand) in January 2019 [2] , received two of the best teams from group A, not directly qualified, as well as the two best teams from group B (men's teams: the Netherlands, Finland, England, Denmark; women's teams: the Czech Republic, Finland, Norway, Estonia).
The championship in group “C” was held in Copenhagen ( Denmark ) from 11 to 18 April2018[3] . The two best teams for men and women in the same year participated in group B tournaments. Among men, the first two places were taken by the teams of Denmark and Belarus, among women - by Slovakia and Poland [4] .

The teams of the Netherlands and Finland, which scored the same number of victories, are ranked by 8-9 places according to the results of a personal meeting.[7][8]

Qualification for the right to remain in Group B (Relegation Round)
First, among themselves in the 1st round there are teams that took the same of the last two places in the subgroups (7th place of subgroup A with 7th place of subgroup B and 8th place of subgroup A with 8th place of subgroup B). The winner of the 7th place match in 2019 remains in Group B. The loser of the 8th place match is eliminated in 2019 in Group C. The loser of the 7th place match and the winner of the 8th place match in the 2nd round plays out a second ticket to stay in group B; the loser in this match is also eliminated in group C in 2019.
