Headquarters of the Yekaterinburg Committee of the RSDLP (b)

The house was built at the end of the XIX century. In November 1905, Yakov Sverdlov organized in it the headquarters of the Yekaterinburg Committee of the RSDLP (b). In 1906, the building was inhabited by Yakov Sverdlov , Klavdiya Novgorodtseva , Maria Aveide , N. N. Zamyatin. The house was located in the village of Verkh-Isetsky Zavod , among whose workers Yakov Sverdlov and his associates carried out propaganda work. Lived in a legal position. They took associates from other regions, discussed issues, gathered workers, agitators and militants. After 1906 they moved to an illegal position [1] .

After 1917, the house was transferred to communal housing; since 1936, various offices were located in the house. In 1986-1991, the building was transferred to the Museum of the History of Party Organizations of the Verkh-Isetsky Plant in Yekaterinburg. After 1991, the house housed commercial structures [1] .

By the decision of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Executive Committee No. 16 of January 11, 1980, the house was put on state guard as a historical monument of regional significance [2] .

Architecture

This is a one-story building with a stone basement located at the intersection of Kirova Street (Proezdzhyaya Street) and Tokarei Street . In 1997, the house underwent a major renovation, in which a warm staircase was added from the southern facade, and an internal redevelopment was made. The house is extended along the red line of Kirov Street. The wooden main northern facade is highlighted with shovels, covering the ends of the log house, in two parts. The windows are rectangular with wooden carved platbands in baroque shapes. The blades are highlighted with a false wooden decor with large outlets. The basement floor has no decor, the windows are smaller in size than on the first floor, square in shape, with arched completion. Other facades are identical. The building is an example of a typical wooden building in Yekaterinburg at the end of the 19th century [3] .
