Records
- Henrik Larsson with 8 balls became the top scorer in the group and shared 3rd place with a few more players, having made poker at home with Moldova (6: 0). For the whole cycle I scored 4 goals from the penalty spot, which was not possible for anyone in this cycle from other players participating in the European selection (he scored three times from the penalty spot in a home game with Moldova).
- Azerbaijan, sown in the 5th basket, beat Slovakia from the 3rd basket 2: 0 in the home match and won the official match of the World or European Championships for the first time since 1999 [1] [2] .
- Only Macedonia scored twice in the gate for the entire qualifying cycle among all the countries participating in the European selection zone.
- 38-year-old Macedonian Tony Savewski became the oldest participant in the qualifying tournament in the European selection zone [3] .
