Skander Suaya ( Arabic: إسكندر السويح , November 20, 1972 ) is a Tunisian footballer who played as a midfielder for the national team of Tunisia .

Club career

Skander Suaya began his career as a football player in the Tunisian club Sfaxien from his hometown. With him in 1995, he won the championship and the Tunis Cup. In 2001, he joined Esperance , with whom he became the country's champion three times. In 2002, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee suspended the midfielder from the game for six months due to a positive doping test [2] . In 2005, Suaya completed his playing career.

Team Career

Skander Suaya played for the national team of Tunisia at the 1994 African Cup of Nations , where he played for her two matches: the group stage with Mali [3] and Zaire [4] .

Scander Suaya was included in the national team of Tunisia at the 1998 World Cup in France, where he entered the main team in all three games of his team in the tournament: with England [5] , Colombia [6] and Romania [7] . In the match with the Romanians, he became the author of the only goal of the Tunisians in this tournament, realizing a penalty on the 10th minute.
