Story
In the center of the work is the story of Paustovsky [1] , the prologue and epilogue are based on the materials of the Nuremberg trial , stories and eyewitness accounts.
1941-1945. The Great Patriotic War . We forgot what kind of war it was. Not an ordinary war or battle, of which there were many in the history of our country. It was a war to destroy our people. The invading Nazis did not come to conquer - they came to kill. This was not the arbitrariness of the distraught warriors and marauders - it was a plan.
This film is not about Germans and Russians. This film is not about falsification of history and misappropriation of other people's merits. This is a film about how war changes people.

Filming
As the main place for filming, the village of Borgustanskaya was chosen, namely the central square and the place at the exit. The general texture of the area was consistent with the idea of the film. True, the installation still had to remove poles and power lines, modern buildings and cars. It also turned out to be the only place where at the same time there was an authentic cart on the move and a horse walking under such a cart. The problem was that all the other carts were either not on track or put on modern wheels. The cart on wooden wheels rattled heavily and was poorly controlled on turns and horses, not familiar with it, were frightened and refused to obey.
Instead of an expensive camera crane, an aerial platform was used. It took just one shot.
The shooting of the main material took only 3 days.
The prologue and epilogue were shot in a studio in Pyatigorsk . The sound was specially distorted to create the effect of a large room.
At the installation, an acute shortage of personnel was revealed. Additional surveys were conducted in the village of Inozemtsevo .
